About Malaysian Remote Sensing Society

The Malaysian Remote Sensing Society (MRSS) was formed in July, 1995. Its overall objective is to support and facilitate development of remote sensing and related technologies in the country. Since it's existence MRSS has embarked in several activities aimed towards further promoting the use of the technology, strengthening government-private sector interaction, encouraging more publications of R&D results and keeping members duly informed of remote sensing activities within and outside the country. Presently MRSS has 358 members, comprising of 5 life member (L), 219 ordinary (M), 11 corporate (C), 17 associate (A), 105 student (S) and 1 affiliated member (F). The challenge confronting MRSS now is to sustain paying members and one way is to offer life membership to members. Life Membership has been offered to ordinary members of at least 5 years duration and with no outstanding yearly subscriptions. The fee for life membership is RM 600. To-date the EXCO has approved 4 life members.
